Will my insurance cover my office visit and tests?
For patients to be seen at the MS Center in the Weiner Neurology Clinic and Research Center, your insurer must have a contract in place with USC Care, Inc, the umbrella organization for USC physicians. Check with us to help you determine whether pre-authorization obtained prior to your visit or for any special testing will be required. You should check to make sure you understand whether you are responsible for any co-payment. This will be payable at the time of the visit. Please bring your insurance card with you to your all appointments.
USC Care, Inc., does not accept capitation, though many plans have been able to negotiate fees for our services. All participants in closed panel or restricted-access HMOs must have secured an out-of-plan referral to the MS Center, or else you may provide cash or credit card payment at the time of your visit. Our apologies, but at this time, we cannot see patients with MediCal only.
For patients eligible for the LAC+USC Ms Clinic, you will need to register with the financial screening office of the Outpatient Clinic of the LAC+USC Medical center. Qualifying for the County’s “Ability to Pay” Plan requires information about your income, assets, and sources of support. The Clinic staff can assist ‘Straight’ and HMO MediCal patients in obtaining the required referrals from their primary care physician as necessary.
